Cab driver allegedly hit in the head with a gun during attack in Chelsea

Chelsea police are searching for two men who allegedly attempted to rob a cab driver, and when he refused to give them money, they hit him in the head multiple times with a gun and grabbed him around the neck Thursday night.Police were called to Essex Street after the cab reportedly struck a pickup truck that was parked there, according to WHDH. The cab driver was bleeding when authorities arrived; he was taken to Massachusetts General Hospital with what are believed to be non-life-threatening injuries.The cab driver reportedly picked up the men at Bellingham Square around 7:30 p.m., according to WHDH. The men are believed to be in their late teens or early 20s, Chelsea police Chief Brian Kyes told WCVB. Authorities found a firearm without ammunition.
