Police investigating ‘apparent homicide’ in Barnstable
The incident happened on Yarmouth Road, and the roadway was closed for several hours.
An apparent homicide drew Barnstable police and state police to Yarmouth Road Wednesday afternoon.Barnstable police said on Facebook that state police detectives assigned to the Cape Cod and Islands District Attorney’s Office were on scene, and that Yarmouth Road was closed between Route 28 and Camp Street.

The district attorney’s office did not return requests for comment as of press time. Officials have not publicly identified the victim.
Witnesses on scene near 362 Yarmouth Road told the Cape Cod Times that there appeared to be an altercation between several people, and that at one point there was a man lying in the road struggling to breathe.
