Police asking residents to submit surveillance video of fatal hit-and-run in Methuen

Police are investigating a fatal hit-and-run that killed a 57-year-old Methuen man outside of his home, officials said.
The crash happened around 8:40 p.m. Monday at 253 Jackson St., according to a post from the Methuen Police Department.
Officers told the Boston Herald Timothy Lafferty was crossing the street to meet a tow truck driver when he was fatally struck.
A sedan with front-end damage located at a nearby home was seized as evidence, according to a release.
Police are asking residents who live between Ranger Road and Pleasant Valley Street to check their security cameras for footage of a vehicle heading toward Pleasant Valley Street around that time.

Police told the Herald they expect to have an announcement about the investigation later Tuesday.
