A Peabody man was killed in an apparent road rage shooting. Now, a young woman is on trial for his murder.

A Peabody man was shot to death following an apparent road rage incident in Lowell in February 2018. Now, the trial for the Lowell woman accused of killing him has begun.Graciela Paulino, who was 20 at the time of the shooting, according toThe Lowell Sun, is facing charges of murder, carrying a loaded firearm, and carrying a firearm unlicensed. Opening statements began on Thursday in Middlesex County Superior Court.Paulino is accused of killing 34-year-old Marc Devoe, of Peabody, while he left work for his lunch break around noon on Feb. 15 with a co-worker. Devoe worked installing HVAC systems and was working on Thorndike Exchange in Lowell at the time, the Sun reported.Paulino allegedly shot Devoe in the chest following what appeared to be an argument caught on surveillance footage near Gallagher Terminal, according to the Sun. The bullet damaged Devoe’s heart; he wasn’t breathing when emergency personnel arrived on scene.Paulino’s attorney is arguing that she was using self-defense and that Devoe had threatened her, according to WBZ.
