Four charged in armed robbery in Beverly
The victim was pulled from a vehicle, punched repeatedly, and then hit in the head with a gun, according to police.
Four people, including two juveniles, are facing charges after an alleged armed robbery, during which the victim, a male juvenile, was pulled from a vehicle in Beverly, punched repeatedly, and then hit in the head with a gun, according to police.Luis Angel Braude, 30, Jovan Cortes Amaral, 18, both of Salem, and a male juvenile were all charged with armed robbery, and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon. A female juvenile was charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.Authorities were called to the scene at County Way near a fire road around 6:35 p.m. Sunday, a news release said. There, they spoke with the victim, who said he’d been driven to the scene by his girlfriend.When they got there, three men allegedly knocked on the car window, opened the door and began punching him, according to the release. They then pulled him out of the vehicle.“The males then took the victim’s backpack and when he attempted to get it back, one of the males pointed what the victim believed to be a firearm at him before striking him in the side of the head with the weapon,” the release said. “The males then fled the area up the fire road. The female who had driven the victim to the area also fled the area.”Police on scene found out that the men had gone into the home at 806 Manor Road, according to the release. Beverly police, with help from officers from nearby departments, went into the home and found two men and a woman; a third man was found on the second floor.The victim was taken to Beverly Hospital for treatment. Residents of nearby homes were evacuated as a precautionary measure during the search, the release said.
