Tire store employee reportedly stabbed, robbed, handcuffed to steering wheel of car
Police say a masked person stabbed the employee in the back of the leg and stole “several items" before escaping.
A masked robber stabbed an employee of Town Fair Tire in Walpole and then handcuffed them to the steering wheel of their car, according to police.
The employee closed the store and was headed to their car when they were attacked around 4:30 p.m. Saturday, according to a release. The masked person reportedly stabbed the employee in the back of the leg and stole “several items” from them before running toward Union Street.
A Lyft driver found the employee in the store’s parking lot and called the police.
After applying a tourniquet to the employee’s leg and freeing them from the handcuffs, police searched the area for the suspect.
Multiple departments along with K9 and air units searched the area, to no avail.
According to the release, police have “strong reason to believe” the suspect fled in a car and there is no threat to the neighborhood.
