Police arrest man accused of post-tai chi class stabbing in Cambridge
The 62-year-old was arrested on a charge of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon on a person over 60.
A 62-year-old Malden man was arrested Wednesday for allegedly stabbing a man with a jackknife last week after a tai chi class in Cambridge.
A statement from the Cambridge Police Department says Henry Tomaszewski was arrested on a charge of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon on a person over 60.
Tomaszewski, the statement said, was found on a porch at Harvard and Inman streets and taken into custody without issue.
The incident happened just after 6:30 p.m. on Aug. 21 at the YWCA on Temple Street, police said. The 60-year-old man who was reportedly stabbed was taken to a hospital with a minor puncture wound to his upper back.
Officers had identified a suspect by the next day, police spokesperson Jeremy Warnick said, but were waiting for the right time to make the arrest.
