Young woman stabbed on MBTA bus in Dorchester

The woman is expected to survive, police say.

A young woman was stabbed late Wednesday afternoon on an MBTA in Dorchester, according to transit police.

The woman, who is around 18 years old, is expected to survive, police say.

Officers responded to the call in the area of Park and Washington streets at about 5 p.m. According to police, the woman was involved in an altercation aboard the Route 23 bus, which resulted in her suffering a nonlife-threatening stab wound. She was taken to a local hospital.

The incident is under investigation, police say, and no further information was available.
