Cambridge police have identified the man who allegedly hit a woman with a phone and tried to pull her stroller

Cambridge police have identified the man they believe is the barefoot assailant who allegedly hit a woman with a phone before attempting to pull her baby stroller last week.The suspect, a 34-year-old Somerville man, is being evaluated at a local hospital and, therefore, remains publicly unidentified, police said. Charges against the man include kidnapping, assault and battery, assault to commit a felony, and attempting to commit a crime, according to authorities.It was last Tuesday around 9:40 a.m. on Harvard Street near Prospect Street that the suspect allegedly began yelling at the victim and then hit her with a phone. He then pulled on the stroller, carrying her 1-year-old child, before taking off.A court date has not been set for the suspect. Police said they received multiple tips that helped lead to the identification, including from Cambridge, Somerville, and Arlington.
