Ipswich man indicted after allegedly carrying woman into traffic in Gloucester

GLOUCESTER, Mass. (AP) — A Massachusetts man charged with carrying his ex-girlfriend into the path of an oncoming dump truck has been indicted, moving his case to Superior Court.

The Gloucester Daily Times reports that 40-year-old Michael Baker, of Ipswich, will be arraigned on charges of attempted murder and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon in Salem Superior Court at a date to be determined.

The charges stem from an incident in Gloucester on April 19 that started with an argument over custody of a 7-year-old girl and ended with Baker picking up the 40-year-old woman and carrying her into traffic.
