Fall River man allegedly prank calls veterans hotline, threatens employee
Kenneth Fillion also said "disparaging" things about the employee's race and ethnicity, police said.
When Milford officers went to a Senate Road home Wednesday evening after someone called the Veterans Affairs Hotline saying they were going to “commit suicide with a firearm,” they not only found that it was a prank, but that the suspect had been live streaming the incident on social media, police said.Police also found out that Kenneth Fillion, of Fall River, threatened the hotline worker he had spoken with, also making “disparaging comments” about that person’s race and ethnicity, authorities said.Fillion, 37, who police said admitted to the hoax, was charged with obstruction of justice — misleading a police officer, making a false report to a public safety dispatch, threatening to commit a crime — third-party transmission, terroristic threats, and a civil rights violation. Police also discovered he had three outstanding warrants — for trespassing, assault and battery, and driving with a suspended license and speeding, according to police.Fillion was held on $10,815 bail and was scheduled for arraignment Thursday in Milford District Court.
