Suspect wanted in Waltham manhunt turns himself in
The suspect now faces eight charges between Waltham and a warrant out of Boston.
The subject of a manhunt in Waltham on Monday has turned himself in, police said Tuesday.Darren Dyette, 29, with a last-known address of 320 D St., Apt. 103, South Boston, faces charges from Waltham of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon — shod foot, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon — the ground, strangulation or suffocation, two counts of witness intimidation, assault and battery on a household member, and threatening to commit murder. He also faces a malicious destruction of a motor vehicle charge stemming from a warrant in Boston, according to a news release.

Police said on Twitter on Monday that they were searching for Dyette in connection with an alleged assault that happened on Fourth Avenue early that morning. The public was urged to call 911 if they saw him and was told not to approach him since authorities said he was “considered armed and dangerous.”

Waltham schools were in lockdown due to the police activity on Monday, Boston 25 News reported. That ended around 1 p.m. as police determined there was “no immediate threat.”
Dyette was planned to be booked in Waltham District Court, police said.
