27-year-old man arrested in connection with alleged Somerville shooting

Boston and state police stopped the vehicle William Freeman-Benjamin was in Wednesday afternoon.

State police arrested a Leominster man early Wednesday afternoon wanted in connection with an alleged shooting in Somerville.William Freeman-Benjamin, 27, was reportedly in a 2017 Hyundai Sonata stopped by state police and Boston police on Savin Hill Avenue in Dorchester shortly after 12:20 p.m. He was taken to the South Boston state police barracks and picked up at 1:30 p.m. by Somerville police.A woman, 33, of Woburn, was also in the vehicle. She was taken to the barracks to speak with detectives and evaluated by EMS.Police didn’t say what charges Freeman-Benjamin is facing, if any.
