Man suffers injuries in Acton shooting
The incident is not believed to be random, authorities said.
An altercation inside an Acton housing complex left one man with multiple gunshot wounds Wednesday night, authorities said.
Acton police responded around 8:58 p.m. to a report of a shooting at the Strawberry Hill Road complex, according to a statement from the Middlesex District Attorney’s office.
A man, who was not identified, had been shot multiple times, officials said. He was brought to an area hospital with nonlife-threatening injuries and is expected to survive, the statement said.
A preliminary investigation shows that a fight broke out before the shooting, authorities said. The people involved know each other, and officials believe the incident was not random.
According to the DA’s office, one person involved in the fight fled the scene.
As of Thursday morning, Massachusetts State Police were contacted to assist in the investigation, which remained active and ongoing, officials said.
No charges had been filed.
