New Hampshire man wanted for home invasion, stabbing in Tyngsborough
Dequan Hagen allegedly went to the home to buy a pair of sneakers and tried to leave without paying for them, police said.
A Nashua, New Hampshire man is wanted by Tyngsborough police after he allegedly invaded a home on Frost Road and stabbed a 17-year-old male in the abdomen Thursday night, police said. Dequan Hagen, 19, is being charged with armed robbery, home invasion, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, assault with a dangerous weapon, and malicious destruction of property over $1,200.Police were called to the home at 8:13 p.m.; the victim had already been taken to a hospital with what were believed to be nonlife-threatening injuries, authorities said. He was then transported via helicopter to a Boston hospital and was in stable condition Friday.Through an on-scene investigation, police believe Hagen had gone to the home to buy a pair of sneakers from the victim. When Hagen allegedly tried to leave the home without paying for them, there was an altercation, police said.Officials found a door leading to a garage damaged and blood on the floor. Hagen allegedly went to his vehicle following the sneaker dispute and grabbed a knife. That’s when he allegedly attacked the victim, according to authorities.Hagen then left the scene in a silver sedan, police said.“I want to reassure Tyngsborough residents that this was not a random crime,” Tyngsborough Chief Richard Howe said in a statement. “We have no reason to believe that the public is in danger, and we are working aggressively with our law enforcement partners in the area to locate and arrest this suspect as soon as possible.”
