Woman allegedly wields metal bat, breaks police station windows when boyfriend can’t be bailed out

Alicia Morasse, 23, faces multiple related charges.

When a woman in Beverly found out she couldn’t bail her boyfriend out of jail, she allegedly smashed a police station window with a metal bat Sunday evening.Alicia Morasse, 23, faces charges of malicious destruction of property over $1,200, disorderly conduct, assault by means of a dangerous weapon (the metal bat), intimidation of a witness, and property damage to intimidate, Beverly Police Officer Mike Boccuzzi said.Police originally responded to a domestic incident between the two around 1:51 p.m. that day, and the boyfriend was arrested on domestic-related charges.Around 5:15 p.m., Morasse appeared at the Beverly police station, police said. She allegedly hid the bat in her right hand, and officers monitoring the lobby couldn’t see it.When Morasse asked about her boyfriend, officers told her his bail was set high due to another incident that had nothing to do with the domestic, according to police. They also told her that because of the domestic incident, they probably wouldn’t be able to see each other. That’s when Morasse allegedly wielded the bat, shattering several panes of the multi-pane window. The security of the station wasn’t compromised, police said, since the window leads into the lobby and not into the station. No one was injured since there wasn’t anyone in the lobby at the time, and the broken window was quickly replaced, according to police.
