1 person killed, 2 injured from gunshot wounds in Dorchester
Two males were found shot inside of a motor vehicle on Dyer Street shortly after a separate shooting was reported in Mattapan, police said.
One person died and two others were injured after they suffered gunshot wounds early Thursday morning in Dorchester following a separate reported shooting in Mattapan, police say.
Boston police officers responded to a shot spotter notification near Astoria Street in Mattapan around 12:34 a.m., where they found “numerous pieces of ballistic evidence,” according to a department statement.
Police then received a radio report for two males shot inside of a motor vehicle near 7 Dyer St. in Dorchester, authorities said.
One victim was pronounced dead at the scene, officials said. The other was brought to a local hospital with a nonlife-threatening gunshot wound.
Officers were then notified of a third male victim who was shot. He had checked himself in to a nearby hospital with nonlife-threatening injuries, officials said.
Police said later Thursday morning that the investigation remained ongoing and asked anyone with information to call detectives at 617-343-4470.
