Yarmouth police are searching for a whale bone that was reported stolen

It’s a whale of a crime. Literally.Yarmouth police are asking the public for help in finding whoever took the left side of a right whale jaw bone from the International Fund for Animal Welfare headquarters on Summer Street in Yarmouthport. The crime was originally reported last Wednesday.The left jaw bone, which measures between 6 and 7 feet long, is valued at at least $5,000. It was being stored outside, police said.IFAW officials declined comment on the matter when reached via email by Boston.com.
