Woman accused of stealing Christmas ornaments in Lowell — again

The woman is facing a couple of related charges.

A Lowell woman is facing charges for allegedly stealing Christmas ornaments, and police say it’s the second year in a row that she’s done it. Luz Matos-Centeno, 44, is being charged with larceny of property under $250 and receiving stolen property under $250. Police plan to summons her to Lowell District Court, they said.Officers used surveillance footage to identify Matos-Centeno as the suspect when several Christmas decorations went missing from an Endicott Street home on Nov. 25.They then went to Matos-Centeno’s home, police said.“The officers recovered the stolen items from Endicott Street as well as other items that appeared to be stolen,” according to the department. The two investigating officers said they recalled Matos-Centeno taking a Christmas ornament last year that was returned to the victim. That person didn’t press charges.
