A woman was attacked inside a downtown Boston Roche Bros. supermarket Sunday night by a group of people also accused of robbing her earlier in the day, police said.

Officers responded around 8:31 p.m. to the 8 Summer St. store in Downtown Crossing after receiving a radio call for a fight inside the market, according to a statement from Boston police.

There, they found security and store staff following a group of people who were attempting to flee the store, officials said.

“Officers spoke to the victim who stated she had been robbed of her cell phone by the group earlier in the day and then subsequently attacked again by the group while inside of Roche Bros,” police said in the statement. “The victim stated the suspects had assaulted her before one of the members stole her wallet and fled.”
