A Belmont woman allegedly tried to suffocate a man with dementia in a Cambridge hospital

“Take your last breath.” That’s allegedly what a Belmont woman told an elderly man with dementia as she held a pillow over his face in a Cambridge hospital earlier this month, the Middlesex District Attorney’s office said in a news release.Tania Boghossian, 53, is now facing an attempted murder charge. She was ordered held without bail during an appearance in Cambridge District Court on Wednesday and also must undergo a mental health evaluation. She is scheduled to return to court on Nov. 15.Boghossian reportedly knew the victim, who is in his 80s and was originally brought to the hospital for dementia-related issues. She had been staying with him in his hospital room since he was admitted several days before the incident on Oct. 12, the DA’s office said.It was around 2 p.m. on Oct. 12 when a sitter, who was assigned to be with the victim while he was in the hospital, told hospital staff what allegedly happened.After hearing the threatening words, the sitter pulled back a curtain and saw the assault in progress, according to the release. Hospital security were called, and Bohossian was removed. She was arrested later via a warrant.
