Billerica man charged after allegedly assaulting woman
A Billerica man was charged after allegedly assaulting a woman on Thursday and leaving her in critical condition, the Middlesex District Attorney’s office said in a statement Monday.Jesse Fillerup, 24, was charged with assault with intent to murder, assault and battery causing serious bodily injury, and assault and battery on a household or family member in connection with the attack. He was ordered held without bail at his arraignment, according to the statement.Around 8:45 p.m. Thursday, officers responded to Rogers Street in Billerica after a 911 call was allegedly placed by the defendant requesting an ambulance, the DA’s office said.Authorities said police found a 26-year-old woman, who is known to the defendant, at the scene suffering from serious head injuries. She was transported to a local hospital, where she remains in critical condition, according to the DA’s office.Fillerup is expected back in court on November 21 for an evidentiary hearing, according to the statement.
