Man shot in Dorchester dies at hospital
A man who was shot in Dorchester Saturday later died at Boston Medical Center, Boston police said in a statement Sunday.Around 12:40 a.m. Saturday, officers responded to the area of 2 Bentham Road for a report of shots fired. Police said they recovered ballistic evidence at the scene but no victim.Officers then learned that a man, believed to be in his late 20s, left the scene before police arrived and took himself to a local hospital for treatment of a gunshot wound, according to police. He was transferred to Boston Medical Center, where he succumbed to his injuries, police said.The incident remains under investigation. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 617-343-4470.
