Authorities release photos of 2 inmates who walked away from Lawrence minimum security facility
Authorities have released photos of two inmates who walked away from a minimum security facility in Lawrence Wednesday. The Essex County Sheriff’s Department said it is seeking to locate and apprehend them.
Manuel Perez, 22, and Levi Montalvo, 23, both of Puerto Rico, were reported missing as of 2 p.m. Wednesday after walking away from the Lawrence Correctional Alternative Center.
Both men are pretrial inmates, with Perez facing motor vehicle theft charges and Montalvo facing charges in connection with the violation of an abuse prevention order, according to the sheriff’s department.
Perez and Montalvo are not classified as violent offenders, but authorities said the public should stay away from them as they may be dangerous. They also have family connections in Lawrence.
