Shooting in Dedham leaves 2 injured

Two people were shot near an event space in Dedham early Saturday morning, police said.

The victims were taken to local hospitals with injuries that were not considered life threatening, Dedham police said in a statement.

The Dedham police department got several 911 calls at around 1:36 a.m. Saturday reporting a shooting near the Moseley’s on the Charles ballroom and event space, the statement said.

After police arrived, they found the victims on a street near Moseley’s. They “investigated the scene and managed the dispersal of a large crowd from an event at [Moseley’s],” according to the statement.

Police found numerous shell casings in a parking lot opposite Moseley’s and on Bridge Street, where the event space is located.
