Police seeking to identify Jamaica Plain sexual assault suspect

Police are seeking the public’s help in identifying a suspect in a sexual assault that occurred Thursday in Jamaica Plain.Around 1:41 a.m., officers responded to the area of Gay Head and Minden streets for a report of a sexual assault.A woman told officers that while she was on Gay Head Street, a man approached her, displayed a firearm, and demanded her cell phone, according to police. He then allegedly ordered her to walk with him into a backyard in the area of 24 Gay Head St. where she said he sexually assaulted her.The suspect was described as either a light-skinned black or Hispanic man with light-colored eyes, police said. The woman said he was wearing a mask pulled up over his nose, a black hooded sweatshirt with a white logo on the front, and black jeans.The man was last seen running down Arklow Street toward Walden Street, according to police.
