Bella Bond’s mother plans to testify against boyfriend
The mother of the 2-year-old girl whose body was found last year in a trash bag on Deer Island plans to testify at her ex-boyfriend’s upcoming murder trial, according to her defense lawyer who says Rachelle Bond clings to the chance to confront the man accused of murdering her daughter.
“She absolutely plans to testify against Michael McCarthy and has from the moment she told the police he killed her daughter,” attorney Janice Bassil said Tuesday in an e-mail. “It is the only thing that she lives for at this point.”
