Dorchester man arrested after allegedly threatening officers with pit bull

A Dorchester man was arrested Saturday at Wonderland station in Revere after allegedly threatening police officers with his pit bull, MBTA Transit Police said in a statement.

Johnny Sadm, 19, of Dorchester.

Johnny Sadm, 19, of Dorchester.

Around 8:40 p.m., officers responded to Wonderland for a report of an “aggressive” pit bull onboard a bus. The bus driver told officers he and other passengers felt unsafe because of the dog’s behavior, according to police.

Officers approached the owner of the pit bull, Johnny Sadm, 19, and told him the dog’s behavior was making others feel unsafe and he would need to leave the bus. Police said they also offered to help with alternate means of transportation.

Using “foul language,” Sadm allegedly told officers he would not get off the bus and they would have to drag him and his dog off the vehicle. After officers put the passengers onto a different bus, Sadm exited the bus and walked into the busway, according to police.

Sadm allegedly proceeded to shout insults at the officers before holding his dog in a “threatening” way and asking it, “Do you want to eat them?” in reference to the officers, police said. Officers asked the Sadm to leave the station several times but he allegedly refused.

When officers tried to arrest Sadm, he violently resisted and tried to swing his dog at the officers, according to police. He was eventually placed into custody and the pit bull was released to a female companion of Sadm’s.

Police said they found what they believed to be cocaine in Sadm’s possession. He was charged with assault, trespassing, resisting arrest, and possession of a controlled substance.
