Police: ‘Molotov cocktail-like device’ tossed on Boston officer’s front lawn
Police are investigating whether or not the officer's home was specifically targeted.
A “Molotov cocktail-like device” was thrown onto the front lawn of a Boston police officer’s home Sunday morning, according to a statement from Boston police.
Around 8 a.m., officers responded to a call for what appeared to be an incendiary device in the officer’s yard, police said. No injuries were reported, and the home sustained no damage, according to police. There was minor damage to the lawn.
Police are investigating whether the officer’s home was specifically targeted. The officer and his residential area were not identified by police.
Police Commissioner William Evans said in a statement that the department is taking the investigation into the incident seriously.
“The safety and well-being of my officers is always of the highest importance to me and, as a result, this is an incident we are taking seriously and investigating accordingly,” he said.
