Quincy police lieutenant indicted for allegedly collecting double pay
A Quincy police lieutenant was charged in an indictment unsealed Monday after allegedly collecting double pay while working for the Quincy Police Department in 2015, the U.S. Attorney’s office said in a statement.
Thomas Corliss, 51, was released on conditions following his indictment on one count of fraud involving federal funds and 12 counts of mail fraud, according to the statement.
A Quincy police internal investigation showed that in 2015, Corliss collected double pay for working multiple police shifts and details that overlapped on several occasions, and collected his regular pay while on vacation on Cape Cod and in the Bahamas, the U.S. Attorney’s office said.
Corliss allegedly defrauded the department of more than $10,000.
Quincy police did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
