Around 9:10 p.m., police responded to the area of Pooles Lane for a report of a woman screaming outside.
The victim told officers a man attacked her from behind and knocked her down, police said. The suspect then allegedly tried to take her clothes off and reached for her underwear.
Police said the suspect was unsuccessful and fled from the area on a bicycle. He did not say anything to the victim during the assault, according to police. Officers searched the area but were unable to find him.
The suspect was described as approximately 5-feet-8-inches tall, with a medium to dark complexion, dark hair, no facial hair, and wearing a gray T-shirt.

Police said they are looking to identify and find a man who was seen riding a bicycle near Railroad Avenue and the MBTA parking lot before the assault. He was pictured in a surveillance video recovered from a local business and fits the suspect’s description.
The incident remains under investigation. Anyone with information is asked to contact contact the Rockport Police Department at 978-546-1212.
