Stabbing in Saugus leaves 1 with serious injuries

A man was arrested Saturday night for allegedly stabbing someone in Saugus, police said.

A victim was taken to the hospital around 9:30 p.m. Saturday with serious injuries, according to a statement from Saugus police. They are in stable condition. The incident happened near 74 Broadway.

Several hours later, officials reported that John Sevier, 50, of Saugus, had been arrested. He is being held by Saugus police pending his arraignment. He faces charges of attempted murder, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon (a knife), and domestic assault and battery, police said.

The stabbing is under investigation.
