Man and teen charged with breaking and entering in Burlington

A Holbrook man and Braintree teen were charged with breaking and entering Saturday in Burlington, police said in a statement.Around 12:50 a.m., police responded to a report of a break-in at a home on Westwood Street. According to police, the residents woke up to loud banging sounds coming from their front door.Police said one of the homeowners got up and observed that the front door, which was locked, had been kicked in and two men were running from the residence.Officers were then notified that a Burlington resident reported he had been attacked on Westwood Street and the suspects were driving a white Jeep Cherokee nearby on Michael Drive.Police said officers arrived and stopped Ronel Lamar Harvey, 23, the 16-year-old male teen, and a woman, who was driving the vehicle. She was reportedly in the area to meet up with the Burlington resident, who she met online.The woman and Burlington resident allegedly had an argument and the resident called police, while she called Harvey and the teen, according to police. An investigation revealed Harvey and the teen mistakenly broke into the home on Westwood Street thinking the woman was inside, police said.Harvey was charged with breaking and entering and destruction of property, and the teen was charged with breaking and entering at night placing a person in fear and destruction of property.The teen was released to his sister’s custody and Harvey was held on $2,540 bail while awaiting his arraignment in Woburn District Court, according to police.
