Boston police arrest 14-year-old allegedly carrying replica firearm on City Hall Plaza

The replica firearm recovered.
A teen was arrested Sunday for allegedly carrying a replica firearm on City Hall Plaza during the Dominican Festival of Boston, Boston police said in a statement.
Around 5:53 p.m., officers responded to a report of a person carrying a firearm at City Hall Plaza, where the Dominican Festival was taking place. Police said witnesses saw a male teen allegedly take a gun out of his backpack and place it into the waistband of his pants.
Police located the suspect, a 14-year-old, and instantly felt a gun in the waistband of his pants during a pat-frisk search, according to police.
Police said the suspect suddenly pulled away, and started yelling and swearing at the officers. After a brief struggle, the teen was arrested. “I got a real gun, I’m gonna [expletive] shoot all of you!,” the suspect allegedly shouted at officers as he was being taken away.
Officers recovered a firearm, which was later established to be a loaded Luger .177 caliber BB pistol, according to police.
The teen, of Dorchester, is expected to be arraigned in Boston Juvenile Court on charges of delinquent to wit: possession of a replica firearm, threats, and disturbing the peace, Boston police said.
