Waltham man arraigned in connection with alleged stabbing
A man was held without bail Thursday for allegedly stabbing two women in Waltham Wednesday before fleeing the scene, prosecutors said.
Emanual Louis, 36, of Waltham, was charged with armed assault with intent to murder, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon causing serious bodily injury, and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon on a person over the age of 60, Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan said in a statement. He will return to court next Thursday for a dangerousness hearing.
Louis is accused of stabbing a 52-year-old woman and 83-year-old woman in a home on Weston Street. The 52-year-old is in critical but stable condition, the DA’s office said. She was taken to a hospital with multiple stab wounds Wednesday. The older woman suffered cuts to her hand.
Louis was found by police and arrested about one mile from the home. Investigators believe Louis knew the victims and “specifically targeted” them.
