A surveillance video taken from a convenience store has led to the arrest of a Hull man on multiple charges, including armed assault with intent to murder.
According to a release from Hull police, officers responded to a report of an assault on Bay Street in the early morning hours of July 9 and found two victims, one with serious but non-life threatening injuries.
Detectives used surveillance from a nearby convenience store, and canvassed the neighborhood, and eventually issued a search warrant for the residence of James Arthur Lawson, 25.
When officers conducted the search warrant on July 21, they allegedly found marijuana and prescription drugs.
Lawson was arrested and charged with armed assault with intent to murder, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon (box cutter), and mayhem. He was also charged with the following misdemeanor offenses: simple assault and battery, possession of a controlled Class D substance, and possession of a controlled Class E substance.
He is being held in Plymouth County Correctional Facility. He is set to appear at Hingham District Court on August 30.
