Framingham man charged with armed robbery

A Framingham man was arrested Wednesday in Holliston and charged with armed robbery while masked, Holliston police said.

David W. Bombard, 47, was also charged with larceny over $250, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, two counts of assault and battery on a police officer, and resisting arrest, according to police.

At about 8:54 a.m. Wednesday, officers responded to a report of an armed robbery in progress at the Holliston Superette located at 777 Washington St. Police said Bombard flashed a firearm and struggled with the store’s owner, who then chased him across Washington Street onto Central Street.

Officers, aided by the Ashland, Sherborn, Medway, and Hopkinton police departments, began a search of the Central Street area. After 20 minutes and a short foot chase, Bombard was located and arrested, police said.

After his arrest, a K-9 search was conducted to find the firearm. Police said they located an air soft pistol hidden in the area where Bombard fled.

Bombard was arraigned in Framingham District Court Wednesday afternoon. Because he has four children, he was released on his recognizance, but was ordered to stay away from the Superette and its owner, according to a MetroWest Daily News report. He is expected back in court on August 22 for a probable cause hearing.
