Worcester man charged with murder of woman found in burning car

A Worcester man accused of killing a woman whose body was found in a burning car last year has been arrested and ordered held without bail, according to the Worcester District Attorney’s office.

Donovan Goparian, 39, was charged with the murder of 35-year-old Marie Martin, of Webster, authorities said. He was arraigned Thursday in Central District Court.

Authorities say Martin was fatally shot before her body was recovered from a burning car off Swan Avenue last November.

Last month, Goparian was charged with witness intimidation in connection to Martin’s death, according to the DA’s office. He has been held on $200,000 bail since.
