2 men to be arraigned for shooting at Winthrop party

Two men are scheduled to be arraigned at East Boston Municipal Court on Tuesday for allegedly beating and shooting a man at a Winthrop party this weekend, Suffolk County District Attorney’s office said.

Andrew Guilfoyle, 31, and Jared Damelio, 28, face charges of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon after an incident at Guilfoyle’s home overnight Saturday, police said.

Guilfoyle was held on $300,000 cash bail, and Damelio was held on $100,000 cash bail, the Suffolk County District Attorney’s office said.

According to a preliminary investigation from Winthrop and State Police, a fight broke out at the home during the gathering. Damelio allegedly struck a 27-year-old man with a baton, and Guilfoyle allegedly retrieved his legally-owned rifle and shot the man in the upper abdomen, police said.
