Prison guard accused of sexual conduct with inmate

The Suffolk County House of Correction in the South Bay.

A Massachusetts corrections officer is accused of having sexual contact with a female inmate, according authorities.

Marlon Juba, 29, allegedly had improper contact with the victim, who at the time was an inmate at the South Bay House of Corrections, according to Suffolk District Attorney Daniel F. Conley’s office.

Juba was suspended Wednesday after a disciplinary hearing following internal and external investigations into the allegations of on-duty misconduct, according to the Suffolk County Sheriff’s Department.

“The Suffolk County Sheriff’s Department has zero tolerance for staff misconduct and the suspected officer was relieved of duty and barred from the facility,” said Superintendent Yolanda Smith. “The Suffolk County Sheriff’s Department is deeply committed to the safety and proper custody of all inmates and detainees.”
