Police investigating fatal Saturday night shooting in Dorchester
Boston police are investigating a late-night shooting Saturday in Dorchester, which left a man dead.
Police say they responded around 11:15 p.m. to a radio call that a person had been shot near 8 York St. Dorchester and arrived to find a male in his 30s suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. He was soon thereafter pronounced dead at the scene.
Boston Police Commissioner Bill Evans told the Boston Herald that investigators “don’t have a whole lot” on the case, the city’s 12th homicide of the year, and asked for the public’s help.
Police ask that anyone with information on the shooting contact detectives at 617-343-4470, or text the word “TIP” to 27463 to provide information anonymously.
