Police ask for public’s help following two indecent assaults
Following two separate incidents in which women reported being indecently assaulted, Boston police are asking for the public’s help as they seek to identify a suspect.
The two assaults happened 15 minutes apart on Wednesday morning, according to a statement on the department’s website. The first happened in the area of Columbia Road and Richfield Street in Dorchester, where a woman said a man approached her from behind, groped her, then took off running.
A short time later, another woman said she was walking to catch a bus in the same area when a man ran up to her and groped her before fleeing.
The victims each described the suspect as a black male in his mid-twenties with a medium build, approximately 5’8” to 5’10” tall. The suspect was wearing a black hoodie, black sweat pants, and red and white sneakers.
The department’s Sexual Assault Unit is reviewing both incidents. Anyone with information is asked to call detectives at (617) 343-4400.
