Dancer wanted for assault tracked down in Dominican Republic

A former exotic dancer accused of stabbing a co-worker and fleeing the country the night before her trial was arrested in the Dominican Republic last week, extradited to Massachusetts, and will be arraigned in Fall River Superior Court on Tuesday, authorities say.

Katherine Pimental, 35, formerly of Providence, was a dancer at King’s Inn in Dartmouth in 2007, when she allegedly attacked and stabbed a fellow dancer in a bathroom stall at work.

“The victim sustained severe injuries to her face and arm,” according to a statement from the Bristol County District Attorney’s office.

Pimental was arrested and released on $5,000 cash bail after the incident and appeared at her pretrial court hearings but did not show up for her trial six years ago. She faced charges of assault with intent to murder, mayhem, assault with intent to maim, and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.

She will be arraigned on bail jumping charges and once again face the charges connected to the 2007 stabbing incident, according to the DA.
