Giancarlo Zambrano, 35, was charged in 2014 with larceny by scheme after taking $7,000 from a Jamaica Plain woman to do vinyl siding work and then never doing the job, according to the Suffolk County District Attorney’s office. He lives in Florida, but previously lived in Sutton.

He was put on pretrial probation and ordered to pay half of the total due by April 28, but failed to do so. He initially didn’t appear for his hearing scheduled for Thursday morning at West Roxbury Municipal Court, but after he showed up in the afternoon, the warrant was withdrawn.

He paid $4,000 and was ordered to pay the remaining amount before Oct. 28.

Zambrano’s brother, Jorge Zambrano, was killed in a shootout with police in Oxford Sunday, hours after he allegedly shot and killed Auburn Police Officer Ronald Tarentino Jr. during a traffic stop. A wake for Tarentino is scheduled for Thursday afternoon in Charlton.

Jorge Zambrano had a long criminal history, including three assaults against police officers. Officials are reviewing whether he should have been on the street.

The Boston Globe reported Wednesday that Giancarlo Zambrano’s girlfriend is an associate probation officer in Dudley District Court. Court officials are looking into whether Ashley Losapio had any involvement with her boyfriend’s brother’s cases.
