Man arrested on multiple outstanding warrants after smoking at MBTA station
A Boston man was arrested on multiple outstanding warrants Monday morning after MBTA Transit Police noticed him smoking a cigarette near a “No Smoking” sign.
Christopher Hoffman, 30, was arrested on warrants charging him with five counts each of uttering a false check and larceny over $250 for crimes that allegedly occurred in Attleboro, Wrentham, and Milford, police said. He was also found to have an extraditable warrant in Rhode Island, and will face an additional fugitive from justice charge, according to police.
Police said they saw Hoffman while policing Davis Station just after 11:30 a.m. Officers observed him standing close to several signs prohibiting smoking with a lit cigarette in hand and approached him, according to police. They quickly determined that he had a number of outstanding warrants and arrested him, police said.
