are asking for the public’s help to identify a driver who struck a trooper and fled the scene early Sunday morning.
The trooper was standing next to his cruiser, pulled over to conduct a traffic stop on the Everett Turnpike, at 2:30 a.m. when a vehicle traveling southbound struck him, police said. The vehicle hit the trooper and a portion of the cruiser’s driver’s side door, according to police.
The trooper was transported to a local hospital for treatment of injuries that weren’t considered to be life-threatening, police said.
Police describe the vehicle as a light-colored SUV with a damaged passenger’s side window and mirror.
