Man accused of sexually assaulting BU student pleads not guilty

A California man accused of sexually assaulting a Boston University student in her dorm room last fall pleaded not guilty to the charges against him Wednesday morning, according to the Suffolk County District Attorney’s office.

Samson Donick, 20, who formerly lived in Boston, faces charges of aggravated rape, indecent assault and battery, breaking and entering at night with intent to commit a felony, and burglary, authorities said.

Prosecutors allege that Donick, who was not a BU student, visited a dorm on the campus along with three friends last October. After two female students signed the group into the building around 2 a.m., Donick went looking for another student, and entered the room of a 20-year-old woman who was sleeping, according to DA’s office. She woke up to find Donick sexually assaulting her, authorities said.

Donick was held on $10,000 bail Wednesday morning. He was ordered to surrender his passport and to remain away from the victim, BU’s campus, and outside of the state should he post bail, authorities said.

He is due back in court June 22.
