Test results: Just 1 in 1,000 college students are positive for COVID-19 in and around Mass.
For the first time, the state Department of Public Health has released COVID-19 case data related to higher education.
As part of its Weekly COVID-19 Public Health Report, officials shared cases that came from higher education facilities for the past month, Aug.15 through Sept. 15. The table indicates the amount of positive cases per day, and shows the total number of cases for the selected timeframe.
For the past month, there have been 499 cases associated with higher education, and 168 of them were added in just the last week.

The data comes on the heels of several high-profile incidents involving potential exposure at Boston colleges, including the suspension of 11 Northeastern students for violating social gathering rules, and an outbreak on the Boston College swim team that led to the state stepping in on testing.
All of the data released by the state Wednesday can be found here.
