Neiman Marcus announces closure of Natick location
Two other stores outside of Massachusetts are planned to close as well.

Neiman Marcus plans to close its Natick Mall store sometime next year, the company has announced.

“We are always assessing our store footprint to ensure it is optimal to enhance revenues, overall profitability, and our integrated retail strategy,” a statement from a spokesperson for the company said.The Natick luxury department store doesn’t have a set closing date yet. The company also announced plans to shutter its Mazza Gallerie store in Washington, D.C., by the end of the month. It also intends to close a store in Walnut Creek, California, next year as well, according to the spokesperson.“These actions will help ensure the continued long-term success of our business and underscore our unrelenting focus on providing unparalleled luxury experiences and engagement,” the spokesperson said.The announcement comes after the company filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection, announced in May. J.Crew had also filed for bankruptcy around the same time.“Prior to COVID-19, Neiman Marcus Group was making solid progress on our journey to long-term profitable and sustainable growth,” Neiman Marcus Group CEO Geoffroy van Raemdonck said in a statement at the time. “However, like most businesses today, we are facing unprecedented disruption caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, which has placed inexorable pressure on our business.”Will you miss Neiman Marcus in Natick?
