Costco is now requiring customers to wear face coverings
"Under the circumstances we believe the added safety is worth any inconvenience."
In an effort to keep customers and employees safe during the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, shoppers visiting Costco stores are now required to wear face coverings, the big-box retailer announced Monday.

According to a statement from the company, the face coverings must cover the mouth and nose.
“Costco employees are required to wear face coverings, and now we are asking that Costco members do so, too,” Craig Jelinek, Costco’s president and CEO, said in the statement. “We know some members may find this inconvenient or objectionable, but under the circumstances we believe the added safety is worth any inconvenience. This is not simply a matter of personal choice; a face covering protects not just the wearer, but others too.”
This requirement does not apply to children under 2 nor to individuals who are unable to wear a face covering due to a medical condition, according to the statement.
Stores are also limiting fresh meat purchases of beef, pork, and poultry products to a total of three items per member.
